  • At 16:30 hours (approx.) a certain Steven called AutoTrader. He wanted to reschedule his appointment with Halbach because she failed to show up for their appointment on Monday 31 October.[1]
  • At 16:30 ~ 17:00 hours (approx.) Kelly Pitzen and Lisa Fochs, friends of Halbach, head to Halbach's residence.[2]

  • At 17:00 hours Karen Halbach called Calumet County Sheriff’s Department (CASO) and reported her daughter, Teresa, missing. Karen provided she had contact with AutoTrader who told her they last time they saw or heard from Teresa was via a fax they received from her on Monday 31 October.[3][4]
    • Corporal Lemieux called Teresa's roommate Scott Bloedorn. Scott informed Lemieux the last time he saw Teresa in her home was on Sunday 30 October.[4]
    • Corporal Lemieux called Angela Schuster of AutoTrader. Schuster provided a timestamp for the fax of Monday 31 October, which was 00:13 hours. Schuster further said Halbach had several photoshoot appointments on Monday: Craig Sippel in New Holstein, "B. Janda" in Two Rivers and George Zipperer in Manitowoc. Schuster stated she was still waiting for a call back to see if the shoots were completed.[4]
  • At 17:30 hours (approx.) Corporal Lemieux briefed CASO colleague Mark Wiegert on the above.[5]
  • At 17:55 hours (approx.) Wiegert made phone contact with Craig Sippel. Sippel explained he was selling a vehicle together with his friend Steven Schmitz in St. Anna. The vehicle was at Schmitz' residence. Sippel never met Halbach.[6]

  • At 18:00 hours (approx.) Wiegert made phone contact with Steven Schmitz. Schmitz said he and Sippel own a car together and were selling it via AutoTrader.
  • Lemieux and Wiegert responded to the residence of Halbach, where friends and family of her were awaiting them.
