Barb’s Plymouth Voyager
Barb Janda's red van was the car that Steven Avery wanted to put up for sale in the AutoTrader magazine. When Teresa Halbach came over on 31 October 2005 she photographed this vehicle.
The red van was a 1989 Plymouth Voyager.
History[]
On 31 October Steven Avery suggested to his sister Barbara that she should sell her Plymouth Voyager.[1] Barbara did not want to sell her van because she didn't need the money and she did not want to pay for the advertisement describing it as a "waste of money".[1] Steven proposed to pay the advertisement instead, but Barbara declined, saying she had other plans for the car: it was going to be a present for her sons, who were going for their driver's license.[1] Later that day Steven Avery called AutoTrader and requested Halbach for a photoshoot of this Plymouth Voyager.
About 14:30 hours Halbach arrived and, according to Steven and eye-witness testimony of Bobby Dassey, she did take photos of the red van.
Due to Halbach's death and her camera being destroyed the photos were never published in AutoTrader. Besides this attempt no other attempt seems to have been made by either Steven or Barb to sell the red van.
